Forklift Tire Sizes by Make & Model

Posted by Forklift Tire Company on 11th May 2026

Looking up the right tire size for your forklift shouldn't require a call to a dealer. This guide maps forklift tire sizes by make and model — drive and steer sizes by capacity class for the most common brands in the United States — so you can identify your fitment — from bestsellers like the Toyota 8FGCU25, Hyster H50FT, and Yale GLC050 down to the exact capacity class of your truck — and order the correct replacement in minutes.

Every size below is drawn from FTC's verified fitment database (cross-referenced to the Atlas Industrial Tire Specification and reconciled against our own catalog). Tire fitment still varies by model year, generation, and sub-variant, so always confirm against your data plate or current sidewall before ordering. If your model isn't listed, send us your make and model and we'll look it up.

How to use this guide: Find your make below, then match your truck's capacity class (rated lbs) and type (cushion vs. pneumatic). Each row gives the drive and steer tire sizes for that class. Tap any linked size to see available products and pricing.

Nissan Forklift Tire Sizes

Nissan forklifts are now part of UniCarriers (Mitsubishi Logisnext). One chassis family (the “1F2”) spans 4,000–8,000 lb in three body styles that use DIFFERENT tires: cushion (CF / MCP), standard pneumatic (PF / MP), and the compact Nomad solid-pneumatic (AF / MAP). Match your body style, not just the capacity.

Heli Forklift Tire Sizes

Heli (Anhui Heli) is China's largest forklift manufacturer and one of the fastest-growing brands in the US. Its IC trucks follow standard tire classes — the drive size steps up from 7.00-12 to 28x9-15 at the 6,000 lb class.

Crown Forklift Tire Sizes

Crown builds a full line of forklifts — including current internal-combustion counterbalance trucks (the C-5 series) — alongside the electric warehouse equipment it is best known for (reach trucks, order pickers, stackers, and pallet jacks). IC Crown trucks use standard cushion and pneumatic tire sizes by capacity; electric warehouse models use press-on cushion tires and polyurethane load wheels. Identify the size stamped on your tire or wheel and match it directly.

Raymond Forklift Tire Sizes

Raymond builds electric reach trucks, swing-reach trucks, walkie pallet jacks, and order pickers. These use polyurethane load wheels and press-on or cushion drive tires rather than IC drive/steer pairs. Measure the size on the worn part (or send a photo) and we'll match it.

Jungheinrich Forklift Tire Sizes

Jungheinrich (a leading European warehouse brand, distributed in the US with Mitsubishi Logisnext) builds reach trucks, pallet stackers, and electric counterbalance trucks. Most fitments are polyurethane press-ons and load wheels; counterbalance models use cushion or pneumatic tires by capacity.

Hyundai Forklift Tire Sizes

Hyundai is one of the fastest-growing forklift brands in the US. Its 7-Series and 9-Series IC trucks use standard tire classes — smaller pneumatic models commonly run 6.50-10 drive and 5.00-8 steer sizes, scaling up with capacity. Confirm your exact size on the data plate before ordering.

EP Forklift Tire Sizes

EP Equipment is a fast-growing electric and lithium-battery brand. In the US, EP sells battery-electric counterbalance and warehouse trucks rather than internal-combustion forklifts. Its electric counterbalance models run solid (pneumatic-shaped) tires — the EFL252 (~5,000 lb) commonly uses 7.00-12 drive / 6.00-9 steer and the EFL302 (~6,600 lb) 28x9-15 / 6.50-10 — while 3-wheel models use smaller electric-truck sizes. Confirm the size molded on your tire before ordering.

Combilift Forklift Tire Sizes

Combilift builds multi-directional (four-way) and specialty trucks that use position-specific tire setups rather than a standard drive/steer pair — typically solid or super-elastic sizes such as 200/50-10, 23x10-12, and 27x10-12 depending on the model and whether it is IC or electric. Send your Combilift model and the size molded on each tire and we'll match them.

How to Read Forklift Tire Sizes

Press-on / cushion tires use a three-number format — Outside Diameter × Width × Band (Hub) Diameter, all in inches (e.g., 21x7x15). Pneumatic and solid resilient tires use a width-rim format such as 7.00-12 (about 7″ wide on a 12″ rim). On a forklift you normally replace two drive tires and two steer tires; the drive (load) tires are usually the larger pair.

Quick tip: 8.15-15, 28x9-15, and 225/75-15 are the same nominal fitment (cross-format names for one tire). But 8.25-15 and 300-15 are different tires that are often confused — they share a similar overall diameter but use different rim widths, and frequently appear together as a drive/steer pair on the same heavy truck. Always match rim width and load rating, not just the leading number.

Where to Find Your Forklift Tire Size

Check three places, in order: (1) the size molded into the sidewall of your current tire; (2) the forklift data plate (nameplate) on the dash or cowl, which lists the model and often the tire size; and (3) the rim or wheel stamping. If the molded size is worn off, the model number on the data plate plus the charts above will get you to the right size — or send us a photo.

Don't see your exact model? Send us your data plate.

Snap a photo of the metal data plate on your forklift (usually on the dash or cowl) and send it over — it lists the model and serial we need. Our team confirms your exact drive and steer tire sizes, usually the same day, so you order the right tire the first time.

1. Find the data plate  ·  2. Photo the model & serial  ·  3. Email or call — we confirm the fitment

Frequently Asked Questions

What size tires does my forklift take?

The fastest way to confirm is to read the size molded into your current tire sidewall and cross-check it with your forklift's data plate and the make/model charts above. Most US forklifts fall into standard capacity classes — for example, a 5,000 lb Toyota cushion truck typically uses 21x7x15 drive tires, while a 5,000 lb pneumatic truck uses 7.00-12. If you are unsure, send us your make and model.

What is the difference between drive tires and steer tires?

The drive (load) tires are mounted on the front axle under the load and carry most of the weight; they are usually the larger pair. The steer tires are on the rear axle and are typically smaller. On most forklifts you replace them in pairs — two drive and two steer.

How do I read a forklift tire size like 21x7x15?

That is a press-on (cushion) size: 21″ outside diameter × 7″ width × 15″ band/hub diameter. Pneumatic sizes such as 7.00-12 instead give the section width (7″) and rim diameter (12″).

Do I need to replace all four forklift tires at once?

Not always, but it is best practice to replace tires in matched pairs (both drives or both steers) so the truck sits level and wears evenly. Mismatched diameters on the same axle can stress the drivetrain and affect stability.

Are 8.15-15 and 28x9-15 the same forklift tire?

Yes — 8.15-15, 28x9-15, and 225/75-15 are cross-format names for the same nominal fitment. Note that 8.25-15 is a different, taller tire and is not interchangeable, even though the numbers look similar.

My forklift model isn't listed — can you still help?

Yes. The charts above cover the most common capacity classes for each brand, but there are thousands of model variants. Send us your make, model, and the size on your current tire (a photo of the tire and data plate is ideal) and we will identify the correct fitment.
