Why Trelleborg dominates demanding material handling
Trelleborg's premium resilient tires are engineered for lower operating cost per hour: long wear, low rolling resistance (more battery runtime or less fuel), and heat control under heavy, continuous duty. The numbers below are Trelleborg's own published XP1000 results versus competitor tires.
| Metric (index) | XP1000 | Comp. A | Comp. B |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wear rate lower is better |
100 | 107 | 109 |
| Fuel & battery lower is better |
100 | 101 | 107 |
| Endurance higher is better |
100 | 91 | 79 |
| Comfort higher is better |

Trelleborg forklift tire families
Trelleborg organizes its range by construction and duty. Match your wheel/axle type first, then duty level:
| Family | Construction | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| XP1000 / 900 / 800 / 700 | Resilient solid (flat-proof, pneumatic-shaped) | Maximum → light intensity; warehouse, shop floor, yard |
| PS1000 / POS | Press-on solid (cushion) | Indoor counterbalanced trucks on press-on wheels |
| TR-900 / T-900 | Pneumatic (radial / bias) | Outdoor or mixed surfaces; impact absorption |
| CX940 / SR940 | Port (bias / radial) | Reach stackers, container & terminal handling |
| Kargo resilient / Kargo PBB | GSE solid / press-on | Belt loaders, baggage/tow tractors, boarding bridges |

The XP series — match the tier to your duty
All four XP tires are flat-proof resilient solids; they step up by how hard you run. The harder your duty across five factors — load, working hours, average speed, cycle length, and cornering — the higher the tier you should spec.
| Series | Duty tier | Best for | Pit Stop Line |
|---|---|---|---|
| XP1000 | Maximum intensity | Premium resilient solid for the hardest duty — top mileage, stability, low rolling resistance. Includes the Pit Stop Line. | ★ Yes |
| XP900 | Demanding | Warehouses, shop floors, and ground service that run long and hard, indoors or out. | — |
| XP800 | Everyday performance | High performance with cost control for reliable, everyday conditions. | — |
| XP700 | Light duty | Light-duty applications — solid steering and value-focused cost per hour. | — |
Trelleborg XP1000 — design, technology & performance
The XP1000 is Trelleborg’s flagship super-elastic (resilient solid) forklift tire for maximum-intensity material handling — warehouses, port yards, shop floors, and demanding ground service. A next-generation multi-layer construction and compound target longer mileage, durability, stability, ride comfort, and better fuel/battery efficiency.
- Built for max-intensity duty — heavy loads, long shifts, higher speeds, longer cycles.
- Multi-layer construction for durability with controlled heat build-up.
- Compound options to match the environment: standard, non-marking, electrically conductive, and heat-focused variants (confirm availability by size).
- Pit Stop Line orange wear indicator for clear replacement timing.
Full Trelleborg XP1000 size & load chart (verified)
Every common forklift size below is verified from the Trelleborg XP1000 brochure. Load ratings are for counterbalanced lift trucks operating up to 25 km/h; the load wheel (drive) and steer columns differ, so spec the correct position. Traction is the default pattern; Smooth and Ribbed are available in many sizes.

Press-on solids, pneumatics & port tires
PS1000 / POS press-on solids mount to a steel band for indoor counterbalanced trucks; PS1000 targets maximum intensity and, per Trelleborg, up to 30% longer life than competitors. TR-900 (radial) and T-900 (bias) pneumatics add block tread and reinforced sidewalls for outdoor and rough surfaces. CX940 / SR940 are built for reach stackers and container/terminal handling, and the Kargo line serves airport ground-support equipment. Tell us your equipment and we'll point you to the right family and size.
Compound system — match the tire to the environment
Trelleborg labels tires by compound so you can match the floor and the job:
| Compound | Best for |
|---|---|
| Multipurpose | Premium all-round performance |
| Non-Marking | Clean floors (premium white compound) |
| Electrically Conducting | Static-sensitive areas |
| ProHD | Heavy-duty applications |
| ProTEX | Unique non-marking |
| ProEnergy (HL) | Cool-running, low rolling resistance |
| Heatshield | Flame-retardant environments |
| Cut / Chemical Resistant | Heavy debris or chemical exposure |
How to choose the right Trelleborg tire
- Flat-proof, pneumatic-like ride indoors/out: the XP series — pick the tier by duty (see the ladder above; XP1000 for the hardest use).
- Indoor counterbalanced trucks on cushion/press-on wheels: PS1000 / POS.
- Outdoor or rough surfaces: TR-900 / T-900 pneumatics.
- Ports / reach stackers: CX940 / SR940.

Trelleborg forklift tire FAQ
They are positioned as a premium choice and back it with data. In Trelleborg's own XP1000 testing the tire shows up to 9% lower wear and up to 7% lower fuel/battery use than competitor tires, with up to 21% higher temperature resistance and roughly 13% better comfort — plus the Pit Stop Line wear indicator. For demanding material handling, they're among the strongest solid-tire options we carry.
Yes. Yokohama Rubber completed its acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems in 2023, and the material-handling tire business now operates under Yokohama TWS. The Trelleborg tire brand and product lines (including the XP series) continue.

Resilient solids (XP1000/900/800/700), press-on solids (PS1000 and POS), pneumatics (TR-900 radial and T-900 bias), port tires (CX940/SR940), and ground-support tires (Kargo resilient and Kargo PBB).
An orange wear band that becomes visible about 100 hours before the tire needs replacing, so fleets can time replacement without scrapping usable tread or running unsafe too long. It features on the XP1000 and PS1000.
The XP1000 spans common 4"–16" forklift rim families (and larger industrial sizes). Examples (counterbalanced, up to 25 km/h): 16x6-8 carries 1,495 kg load / 1,150 kg steer; 18x7-8 carries 2,145 / 1,650 kg; 250-15 carries 4,745 / 3,650 kg. The full verified table is on this page — send your size and we'll confirm the exact rating.
Use resilient solids (XP) for flat-proof uptime with a pneumatic-like ride, press-on solids (PS/POS) for indoor counterbalanced trucks on cushion wheels, and pneumatics (TR/T) for outdoor or rough surfaces. Match by your wheel type first, then duty level.
