The Rudnick Legacy: 100 Years in the Tire Industry
The story of Forklift Tire Company, Inc. is built on four generations of hands-on experience, adaptation, and deep industry knowledge.
1926–1964: The Foundation
In 1926, Ben Joseph Rudnick founded Ben Rudnick Tire Company in Los Angeles. As the exclusive West Coast distributor for BFGoodrich for 36 years, the company became a major force in early tire distribution.
The Flower Street location grew into a full-scale operation with a showroom, service bays, and a large distribution network.
1950s–1980s: The Industrial Shift
Ben’s sons, Gerald (Jerry) and Donald (Don), expanded the business and helped transition it from retail automotive into industrial tire applications.
Using early tire press equipment, they began focusing on forklift tires, laying the foundation for the company’s long-term specialization.
1975–2000s: Specialization and Growth
Tom Rudnick continued the shift toward industrial markets, building Solid Tire Company and Rudnick Industrial Tire Company. Operations moved to Sun Valley and Newhall as the company refined its focus on forklift and industrial tire solutions.
Tom also recognized the shift toward digital early, launching one of the industry’s first online tire stores.
The Fourth Generation: Digital + Technical Expertise
Today, Troy and Jason Rudnick lead the company.
Troy brought web and digital strategy to the business, launching ForkliftTire.com in 2011. Jason developed hands-on expertise in pressing, regrooving, and industrial tire service.
Together, they combine technical knowledge + modern e-commerce to deliver accurate solutions at scale.
