SALES@FORKLIFTTIRE.COMRubber Press-Ons, aka "Cushion tires", are solid rubber tires built on top of a 3/8" steel ring to press onto flat base wheels. A cushion rubber tire is measured by "overall diameter by width by inside diameter", resulting in a size like "21x7x15". This tire is 21 inches tall, 7 inches wide, and presses onto a 15 inch wheel diameter, resulting in about 5-5/8 inches of rubber, accounting for the steel ring base. The cushion of rubber on this tire reduces wear and fatigue of the operator, and allows for more versatile forklift warehouse operations.
For optimal performance, we recommend replacing cushion tires once 2" of rubber has been worn.
Traction or Smooth? The most popular type of cushion tire for forklifts is the smooth tire, because it contains the most rubber and better surface contact, which allows for the best traction in most applications. Need Non-Marking Tires? Depending on your forklift operations, you may require non-marking rubber tires, which do not contain the carbon black that marks up warehouse floors. Non marking tires are useful in OSHA-required or ISO-regulated environments, or for any warehouse or facility that would like to keep their floors and operations clean. Another non-marking press-on type are polyurethane press on tires.
